36 Convenience Store News | NOVEMBER 2014 | WWW.CSNEWS.COM I n the small town of Newkirk, Jiffy Trip decided to do something special for its cus- tomers by introducing a fresh, modern image combined with the latest convenience store programs. The 3,691-square-foot store, which opened in October 2013, boasts a beer cave, Subway restaurant, and a drive-thru window where customers can get anything they want. The objec- tive was to provide the town with a modern convenience alter- native — but it did not come without challenges. According to design firm Paragon Solutions, the budget was much less per square foot than previous stores because Newkirk is a smaller market.
