34 / Convenience Store News for the Single Store Owner / JUNE 2016 Foodservice A verage per-store sales of foodservice — which includes prepared food and hot, cold and frozen dispensed beverages — rose 5.7 percent for single-store owners in 2015, just slightly less than the 6-percent increase per store for the total convenience store industry. Segments within the category, however, showed considerably more variation. For instance, single stores saw better results than the total industry for cold dispensed beverages, which increased 10.2 percent in average sales per single store vs. 7.9 percent per store for the total industry. Sales of frozen dispensed beverages, which saw no per- store growth for the total industry, in- creased by 3.6 percent per store among single-store owners. Conversely, sales of hot dispensed beverages increased 2.5 percent in aver- age sales per single store, trailing 4.7 per- cent for the total industry. Average per- store sales of prepared food increased 6.4 percent for single stores, on par with the total industry growth.
